Lake Trout Fishing

West Grand Lake has some of the best Lake Trout Fishing in the State of Maine. Our average fish weigh 3-8 pounds with 20 pound fish caught each year. The lake trout are shallow in May and June, and are caught in conjunction with the salmon when trolling the shallows. As the water warms and the fish go deep, our guides will use lead lines and downriggers to catch their quarry. Spoons, streamers and live bait will all work. Lake Trout are referred to by the locals as "Togue". They are a wonderful fish that represent the "North Country" wilderness that our Maine cabin rentals have to offer.
